Program Goal

To provide accessible, high-quality education, employment, and skills development support for Australians experiencing hardship, unemployment, or underemployment.

Objectives for Year 1:

  • Help clients gain job-ready skills, certifications, or vocational training.
  • Support job placement, internships, and apprenticeships.
  • Build capacity for long-term independence, reducing reliance on welfare.
  • Operate nationally with local teams in major cities and remote support.

Program Structure

A) Local Teams – Major Cities

  • Locations: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Hobart, Darwin
  • Staffing per city :
    • 3 Education & Employment specialists per city β†’ 24 staff
    • 1 Program coordinator per city β†’ 8 coordinators
    • 2 Admin/support staff per city β†’ 16 admin
  • Services: career counselling, resume & interview coaching, skills training, employer partnerships

B) Remote & Online Skills Network

  • Online learning platform for remote/regional clients
  • Access to:
    • Online courses (vocational, IT, business, trades)
    • Job application support
    • Virtual mentoring & coaching
  • Fully funded to handle 5,000–7,000 participants/year

C) Assessments & Certification Funding

  • Cover costs for clients to obtain:
    • TAFE or vocational course certifications
    • Licensing exams (e.g., RSA, First Aid, trade licenses)
    • Short courses that improve employability
  • Target Year 1: 3,000–4,000 funded certifications

D) Employer & Internship Partnerships

  • Partner with local businesses to provide internships, apprenticeships, and job placements
  • Support follow-up with mentoring, coaching, and employment retention

E) Emergency & Contingency Fund

  • $1M reserved for:
    • Urgent access to online courses or certifications
    • Transport support for training or interviews
    • Equipment or materials for skills development

Donor Contribution Examples:

  • $250,000 β†’ fund a city team for 1 year (specialists, coordinator, admin)
